I originally created this program as one of many countdown timers that lead to various events like, Christmas, Halloween, or next year. I recently made an even newer Countdown to NFL Gameday, using THIS site's codebase. Unlike all those others, this one is actually important! Because, make no mistake about it, election day is tremendously important!

The original versions of this page got rather long and I decided it was time to clean the slate and start over. But you can still read them if you'd like, because I've archived them. I don't like to delete things

Today is my birthday. And so I decided that today would be the day that I would finally speak up again.

So how is this second Presidency of the Criminal in Charge going? Here is just a short list of the things that have happened since this newest term started. This is off the top of my head, so I might not remember everything, or have it in the right order.

Tore down the East Wing of the White House to make room for a new ballroom. This was not legal. He didn't even obtain permits. He didn't even have actual completed plans for it.
Imposed tariffs on the entire world, upending the entire world's economies. Something that was not legal or allowed, but that no one was able to stop. Most of the tariffs were stricken down by the SCOTUS. He just called them something else, and put the right back.
Sent ICE into cities across the country (but only those led by Democratic leaders) and started rounding up people by the 1000s. These people were detained or deported. No due process, This is a violation of the civil rights of ALL of those people, and also VERY illegal. He has many of them still locked up in concentration camps.
Started killing civilians off the coast of Venezuela, in international waters, with no justification or evidence other than simply saying, "They had drugs." This is also illegal.
Invaded Venezuela and kidnapped their President. This is also illegal. Nothing has been done since then. We have no idea what the status of this is.
Added his name to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This was illegal, of course. When the courts told him to remove his name, he did, and then left a tarp covering the wall so no one could see it.
Erected an enormous gladiator ring on the South Lawn of the White House. Is this illegal? I kinda think it is. But at this point, that would be the weakest of all crimes.
Started an illegal war with Iran, which resulted in Iran closing down the Strait of Hormuz, literally holding the entire world hostage until the US makes an agreement with them to end the war. This is also VERY illegal. Not to mention that this is also the single dumbest thing this administration has ever done.

I could probably write an entire essay on every single one of those bullet points. But why bother? I doubt that many people read this anyway. In any case, I would only be repeating all of the same things that everyone has already said about these things. And there is WAY more to say. Each one of those bullets is just the headline. The underlying story for each one is so completely batshit insane that it is just mindmanglingly frustrating that so much of the world, so much of this country, so much of our government, has just allowed it to go on. Unchecked. No consequences. Hell, even in cases where some of these things were challenged in court, the courts sided with the Trump administration. Even though it was CLEARLY against the law.

And this list isn't everything. It's just the most obvious and glaring stuff. The stuff that makes every sane person in this world thing, "How in the blue hell is this allowed to continue?!"

On more thing I didn't put on the list, because it's not nearly as bad, but it IS colossally stupid in every way. He spent some $15M, so far, to have the Reflecting Pool painted a dark blue, for some reason. He paid a friend to do the work, because of course he did.

It turned green immediately. They tried to kill the algae with hydrogen peroxide. That didn't work, AND it made the paint peel off the bottom. Rather than take responsibility for all of this, he blamed it all on vandals, and started arresting people for taking pieces of the peeling paint.

This really is about the best metaphor anyone could imagine for this Presidency. Break something that was not broken. Botch the repair job. Blame everyone else when it all goes to crap.

Do I have a final point here?
No. I really don't. I just wanted to list out how things are going. At the risk of stating someone even more obvious, they are not going well. And as long as Trump is in power, this will continue.

Every day for over 11 years now, and I mean every day, Trump and/or his people, come out with something stupid, wrong, immoral, illegal, or just plain farked up - things that would instantly destroy the career of any politician. Before we even have a chance to finish talking about what action should be taken to fix THAT thing, they do something else that is even MORE farked up. Every. Day.

Ok, maybe that was my final point.
